Latino Scholarships

The Education Foundation, in partnership with the C.O. Latino Partnership Program and Oregon Community Foundation, awarded 4 scholarships to graduating Latino students to pursue higher education or trade school opportunities in 2022. Over 24 students applied. Most of these students are the first in their family to graduate and attend college. We are grateful to the generosity of B.E. Knudson Foundation, D.A. Davidson & Co., C.O. Latino Partnership Program and Oregon Community Foundation for their support of this program.

2018 was the first year of providing scholarships to graduating Latino high school seniors from Bend-La Pine schools to attend college or trade school. Most of the students applying also participate in the District’s Avanza, Ganas or Juntos programs during high school which help guide these students through the rigors and nuances of academic success in high school. This program is the only Latino scholarship program in the C.O. region. The Education Foundation is working to strengthen both awareness of and fundraising opportunities for this program. 2018 had 10 applicants, 2019 had 24 applicants.

Thank you to our generous program supporters:
