It takes a complete community to create great public schools. That’s why the Education Foundation is focused on increasing understanding and support for our district. You are invited to get involved!
Volunteer for the Education Foundation
Help the Education Foundation for Bend-La Pine Schools to achieve our mission. Opportunities include service on the Board of Directors, as a member of a Foundation Committee, or as an event volunteer.
Board members serve a 3 year term (renewable). They attend monthly meetings with an annual retreat. It is both a “working” and “governing” entity.
Executive Committee members comprise Board officers, Committee Chairpersons, the Executive Director and the District Superintendent. This group meets monthly.
Other committees are described below. Occasionally sub-committees develop for special event planning and specific projects. Committees meet on an as needed basis.
Event volunteer support is always appreciated. The time involved varies based on the specific event and designated role.
Allocations
This committee assesses funding needs within the district, establishes an annual budget for Activity Fee Scholarships, and reviews Classroom Grants.
Board Development & Recruitment
This committee nominates candidates for election to the Board of Directors and provides training to new & existing members.
Finance/Audit
This committee monitors financial performance of the Foundation and report its status to the Board. They additionally set financial policies, arrange an annual audit, and develop the organizational budget.
Public Relations & Marketing
This committee strives to raise the level of public awareness of the Foundation and its events through press releases, newsletters, social media, print, television and radio broadcasts.
Resource Development
This committee develops & implements a fundraising plan to meet the Foundation’s revenue goals. Fundraising efforts include individual & corporate giving, special event planning, grant-writing, securing passive fundraisers, & growing legacy gifts.
